Default Worst employee gift ever?

For those of you who keep track of such things, nurses' day was last Thursday. The weekend shift people got our gift from the hospital Saturday. It was...

Wait for it...

A towel . And not a huge fluffy beach towel, either .

So it started me thinking. What is the worst employee gift you've ever gotten? I think it might have been the year we got carnations from the hospital. However, they didn't order enough for everyone to have one, so we had to pass the corsage from shift to shift. Want to guess what the carnation corsage looked like at the end of the day? .

Our company that announce they had just made $500 million gave us nylon gift bags for Christmas. The previous year when we had a private owner and were only worth $15 million we each got $500. That one just pissed me off.

But I think the worst gift was for lab week one year we got pens that one of the vendor had donated from the pathologist

I have you beat. When I worked for WorldCom, they gave us microwave popcorn for Christmas. We're talking ONE bag, not even a whole box.

OMG, these are all hilarious, but I think I've got you all beat.

When I worked for one of my PR agencies, the owner got us all bookmarks, even the VPs. Worst part of it was, you could see where she tried to black out the price, it was $1.79!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The wrapping paper was worth more than the frickin' thing!

One of our VPs threw it across the room as he blurted out all sorts of expletives.

My most recent boss, Joan of Arc, was nice enough to give the girls a Christmas ornament 2 years ago ..... but it had the year 2004 printed on it. DH and I had a field day with that one!

ABN AMRO gave out toothbrushes one year to coincide with some yacht race around the world they were sponsoring.

Those suck. We got pretty good gifts everywhere I worked. Tea when I worked for CVS the pharmacists got cameras and that was 10 years ago. I was impressed.

I have never ever gotten any type of employee gift. I have occasionally gotten a teacher gift over the years but never an employee gift.

This is kind of borderline depending on how you look at it.

Stock options for a company that said they will never go public They also said that in the event of either they fire you or you resign, the options are not worth anything. Gotta love that

We get nothing. Management doesn't even recognize Zookeeper Appreciation Week. Just a "Hey, thanks" would be nice. The Chamber of Commerce provides lunch for us once a year. It's catered by... the Zoo.

DH works for a huge, world wide company and he gets little things all the time. He just got a $10 gift card to Walmart.
